Brew & Muse is ideally a weekly roundup of things I’ve done, seen and loved, and any random thoughts and musings that have drifted through my mind. I often find some neat things on the internet that I think others might think are cool too. So, grab a cuppa with me and let me talk more shit for a few minutes while you read.
the brew
A strong english breakfast tea with a splash of oat milk. Later it will be Matcha Lane’s iced matcha. The best matcha I have found thus far. But now that I have finally found a matcha that I like, that has the right flavour profile and beautiful green colour, having one daily is now back in my routine and I love it.
The musings
I am tired, yo. Work has been WORKING ME. I am about to embark on an evolution from my current job and officially be in regional Queensland both as my place of work and where I am currently based. So long brutal 2+hr commute to the big smoke morning and afternoon. Fuck I hate Brisbane traffic almost as much as Vancouver traffic (actually, maybe more).
But I am also, on the side, building my app. And with each passing day, my hunger to continue doing that grows. If anyone knows of any grants that would be available in Australia for this type of thing, holla. I’d love to do this full time, truly.
monthly Stay In Club
Okay! The theme I have picked for May dinner is Mexican. Breakfast… Traditional English Cookup and movie night… undecided. The biggest issue is actually finding the time to do this since I have been travelling a lot for work as of late, with more on the way.

what we’re cooking, good looking
I am returning to batch cooking this upcoming week. With my schedule so all over the place with travel from now until the end of August, I need to get organised. As I am embarking on an anti-inflammatory diet I need things to just be simple where I don’t need to think. A few things I’ll be batch cooking this weekend:
Quinoa
Spicy shredded chook
Roasted veggies
Sweet potato waffles
Hot honey beef
currently on my bookshelf
I am looking at buying the two Hunger Games series books I haven’t read yet. The one about President Snow and the other about Haymitch.
from around the internet
I am obssessed with ChatGPT and I feel like half the world doesn’t get it and doesn’t like it and the other half is just as hooked as I am. Here are a few ways I’ve used ChatGPT this week:
I’ve asked ChatGPT to give me a full face of makeup for a variety of events (no make-up make-up days, evening make-up, brunch with the girls make-up). I have not previously been into make-up and the most I use daily is mascara so I have no idea what I’m doing or what shade is best but ChatGPT has nailed the brief. I have often found make-up to be quite overstimulating on my face and my skin is VERY sensitive, so I’ve avoided it. But a lot more brands have come on board that are more skin care than make-up and I’m keen to try it (MERIT, RMS Beauty and ILIA just to name a few).
I’ve used ChatGPT as my collaborator and co-founder in my app build. Its been nice to have something to bounce ideas off of, help formulate what I’m thinking and fleshing out ideas more
Have you seen the explosion of “national parks” accounts on TikTok? After the Trump administration has been withdrawing funding for a lot of different departments, civilians have been creating accounts based on “national parks” in the USA. They are thirst traps and hilariously good and are bringing some much needed awareness to NPs in a very different way. And now many other NPs across Canadian and Australia have jumped on board!
