Brew & Muse is a monthly roundup of things I’ve done, seen and loved, and any random thoughts and musings that have drifted through my mind. I often find some neat things on the internet that I think others might think are cool too. So, grab a cuppa with me and let me talk more shit for a few minutes while you read.
the brew
I started off the day with a T2 Melbourne Breakfast (French Earl Grey is also a good pick) but now I’m enjoying a decaf flat white on almond milk with choc protein mixed in.
The musings
I’ve been undertaking an audit of my life as I continue to transition into a new season of change (positive!). Its included being gentle with myself a lot. I have days where I just have to do nothing and rest and times when I am able to get a lot done. This period of transition feels very reminiscent of when I had adrenal fatigue, but I feel much better prepared. As such, while I really aimed for this to be a weekly post the truth is juggling full time work, with a schedule that isn’t set in stone, sometimes makes it tougher. So, in the essence of being gentle with myself then I have moved this to a monthly Brew and Muse series. I feel like I will have a lot more to say as well, if it is a roundup of the month prior.
I joined a new gym in June, one with strength and conditioning classes and a really supportive environment. I have a goal to lose 20kg of body fat and I find I need the accountability of classes to keep me on track, but also it helps reduce the mental load. I sign up, I show up, I do it, I go home. Workout done. I’ve also increased my protein consumption to almost 140g a day, which has felt like a bit of a mammoth task but I do feel better for it. I was happy to find out that I actually have a HIGH percentage of lean muscle and skeletal muscle mass, which is positive news all around and is a great spot to be in as I shed the shift work/stress weight from the last 6-7 years.
I’ve also decided to undertake an ADHD assessment. I’ve had a few close friends go through it (who are very similar to me) and have found it life changing for them. I have mixed feelings about it but the more people I talk to about it, the more affirming it is that I need to do it. It’s a bit of a long and expensive process so it’s not something you just do on a whim, and it’s not as easy as just going to the doctor, telling them your symptoms and being given a diagnosis like you’d get for a cold or flu. Stay tuned.
goals getter
three goals I hit in June
Joined a new gym
Went to yoga consistently (at least once, if not twice a week)
Went to physio!

Lose 4kg
Soft launch my app for beta testing
Register all domains, my company and websites
how I filled my cup in June
I did yoga a lot and enjoyed being treated to a relaxing afternoon at a bathhouse in Brisbane, followed by meeting up with friends and going to the footy. I also started EFT and trying to make meditation a much more regular occurrence in my week.
what we’re cooking, good looking
June saw a lot of Mexican inspired dishes, nachos, burritos, tacos! Normally I gravitate towards Asian inspired dishes but the cooler nights called for something different. No real recipe, all cooking from the heart.
currently on my bookshelf
I’m still working my way through This Is Wildfire: How to Protect Yourself, Your Home, and Your Community in the Age of Heat by Nick Mott and Justin Angle. I am thoroughly enjoying it. Its giving a great historical look at forest fires and the forest service in the US and how we’ve come to have more catastrophic and severe fire seasons than ever before.
from around the internet
ChatGPT last month:
I created a bunch of projects in ChatGPT that house specific information and content to act as a collaborator, co-founder or adviser and it has been game-changing in helping sort my thoughts.
I worked with ChatGPT to create a jumping off point for a bunch of branding I need for three businesses
I’ve been using ChatGPT to help style my wardrobe and gain more consistency instead of it being a disorganised mess. I’m using it to help select and curate so I don’t just buy something aspirational but instead purposeful. I’ve also been using it to find discount codes for online shopping!
ChatGPT and I have been working through my finances as well. Getting clear on my spending and making a plan for the future.
